Architecture to reside in the landscape differently; to walk, to run, to stand, sit, eat, drink, sleep, dance, take shelter, search for, speak, leap. The site is under investigation, is revalued and materials are rearranged. By building. Architecture to connect to the earth, to the other, to the wind, rain, sun, trees, and bees, to live.

I. Resource consciousness;
a
We build with materials that mostly grow above the ground or can be extracted superficially, that are locally available and demand as little energy as possible for production and processing. Building is equal to rearranging materials, with the construction methods appropriate to these materials. And in this proces resource consciousness is of great value, including the lifespan and -cycle of the materials. To practise a positive influence and afford a healthy and comfortable living environment.

A living environment that uses as little energy and water as possible, produces a minimum of waste, is as independent as possible of (active) installations for it to function properly, for a healthy indoor climate. Effective construction with wood, with natural stone, with straw, hemp, loam, earth, clay, chalk, cotton, wool, linen. Living with solar- and geothermal energy, fresh air and clear water. Building naturally to afford places for people to reside in. We work on new developments and renovation, in collaboration with a network of craftsmen. Jointly master-builder.
II. A parallel world of development;

A world of development with user-defined landscape design and architecture, with legal-financial models for collaborative- and self-build. Models that make acquiring and / or renovating and building of one's own dwelling more accessible. We study the landscape and picture layers in it, through analysis and presentation. Using stories, maps, drawings and models. Rogier Rouwet participates and organizes workshops to investigate, to learn, to play and to make fragile alternatives possible.

We strive for an atelier where work, education and play come together as do experiences, inside and outside, theory and practice. From which we imagine alternative futures to the dominant urban narrative.
III. To cause forest;

Rogier Rouwet wants to cause forest: forest that grows without further human interference, not planted, arisen nonetheless after choosing forest as long-term destination since forest grows naturally in parts of our country. For hundreds of years, with alternating varieties, starting out with pioneer species such as birch and willow tree. For the landscape, for the production of oxygen, and to increase diversity.

Rogier Rouwet wants to cause forest: forest for careful sustainable forestry, food production and recreation. Join the forests of The Netherlands with routes, places to stay and living environments. It is spatial planning, landscape design and map making. Supported by landowners who are not depending on those lands for their income, CO2-compensation programmes, governments and organisations with the same ambition.
